Brain tumours
When normal cells grow old or become damaged, they die and new cells take their place. Sometimes, however, this process goes wrong and new cells form when the body doesn’t need them, or old or damaged cells don’t die as they ought to. In this case, the build up of extra cells can form a mass of tissue – a tumour.
Spinal conditions
Dr Nash treats a number of spinal conditions that fall under the heading of neurosurgery.
Brain haemorrhage
A brain haemorrhage is a brain bleed, where a blood vessel bursts and causes bleeding into or around the brain. This may occur as a result of a stroke or a head injury.
Dr Nash also deals with other causes of brain haemorrhage such as aneurysms, AVMs and cavernomas.
Other conditions treated
Dr Nash also treats various other conditions such as pituitary tumours and infections of the brain or spine where a collection or abscess has formed. She is also part of a group of doctors and allied helathcare professionals who treat patients with Parkinson’s disease through the surgical technique known as deep brain stimulation.
